GEMO means taste in Georgian. Everyone who has been to Georgia knows how delicious and diverse our cuisine is, so what better name to choose for our festival than Gemo?
For the first time, we held The Gemo Fest in 2022. It aimed to rejuvenate the culinary life of Georgian regions. Two main tasks were to boost regional tourism and to drive local visitors to regional parts of the country. The selling point was our exceptional cuisine in terms of ingredients and the dishes themselves.
Our unique typographic symbol represents a taste that never repeats itself and leaves you with a different feeling each time. To our minds, flavors convey emotions, and ingredients represent practical descriptions. We decided to embed this into the brand visuals. For each region, we created different visuals that expressed their authentic character. We chose postage stamps as the medium by which people would travel to us.
Gemo Fest has gained enormous popularity. Until now, the festival covered four regions of Georgia. We have held the Gemo Fest six times in total. It is one of the most beloved and delicious gathering places for everyone. Tourists, people from big cities, and residents of the countryside alike all come to enjoy delicious food at Gemo Fest.
